TELENESIA – An Island of Lost Images

Exhibition by Julian Konczak

Telenesia is an imaginary island (tele = far away, nesia = island) – it is the place of forgotten media.Visitors are invited to explore buttons and dials on TV sets to conjure glimpses and glitches from an archive of old film. The sculptural installation recreates the experience of being stranded in the middle of an empty ocean with only the washed-up decaying remains of civilisation to distract from the sound and light of the sea. A curated exhibition of works by invited international artists; Ian Helliwell, Rosa Menkman, Jon Pigott and Anders Weberg, will also be exhibited developing on themes from Telenesia.

My participation is the film Transient from my p2p art project. A copy of the film was downloaded from the P2P networks. The original was deleted when the copy was shared on the networks.

The 10 hour long film [rmx] made with the mobile phone will be screened November 10 in Tehran, Iran.

This event was originally scheduled for October 10 but due to technical problems it was moved until November 10.

Organized by Sazmanab Project in collaboration with P2P Art

On November 10th, Sazmanab Project will be screening two 10 minute, 10 second and 10 frame long experimental video-documents created by Sohrab M. Kashani from Tehran and Mani Nilchiani from NYC, shot during October 10th (10/10/2010).

The screening will be followed by the premier of “101010″, 10 hour, 10 minute, 10 second and 10 frame long audio/visual excursion by Swedish artist and experimental film maker Anders Weberg shot during the same day, remixed down to 10 minutes, 10 seconds and 10 frames.

Admission is free but space at Sazmanab Project is limited

P2P Art in Tehran, Iran on November 10th.

The lastest film from my P2P Art project will be on display in Tehran, Iran. 101010 remixed down to 10minutes, 10 seconds and 10 frames.

New date for this event is November 10 17:00 – 20:00

On November 10, Sazmanab Project will be screening two 10 minute, 10 second and 10 frame long experimental video-documents created by Sohrab M. Kashani from Tehran and Mani Nilchiani from New York, shot during October 10th (10/10/10).
The screening will be followed by the premier of “101010″, 10 hour, 10 minute, 10 second and 10 frame long audio / visual excursion by Swedish artist and experimental film maker Anders Weberg remixed down to 10 minutes, 10 seconds and 10 frames.
The three videos together form a total 30 minute, 30 second and 30 frame long playlist,
which are looped for another 3 hours, making it a total 3 hour and 30 minute long screening.

The 9 minute, 9 seconds and 9 frames long remix of the 9 hour, 9 minute, 9 seconds and 9 frame long film 090909 that was released in one copy on the file sharing networks 9/9 / 2009 at 09:09 am will be screened at an event called VIDEOSCOPE in Le Havre, France.
October 7, Free entrance.
It’s a selection from the pocketfilms festival in Paris and programmed by Raphael Maze.
