Optica Festival, Madrid 2011.

I was honoured with the Special Optica Award at the Optica Festival earlier this year and my work will be screened at various places this autumn starting in Madrid this weekend.

I will not be in Madrid but when the festival comes to Gijón in October I will be there.

“Cuando todo se termine…”: Un profundo análisis, desde la perspectiva de la cultura audiovisual contemporánea, de la irracional conducta autodestructiva del ser humano desarrollada desde el inicio de su existencia hasta la actualidad.

Una reflexión sobre el lado más oscuro y miserable de la historia del hombre. También, una visión particular de la desmedida explotación de los recursos que el planeta le ha brindado para su superviviencia a lo largo del tiempo.

Siguiendo el concepto descrito en el párrafo anterior, proponemos un formato novedoso en el que el orden de todas las piezas se estructura de una manera que en su conjunto conforman una “película” de marcado carácter experimental. A lo largo del “metraje”, los espectadores podrán disfrutar de una serie de experiencias sonoras, visuales, sensitivas…

El planteamiento propuesto por Optica rompe, en este caso, el ritmo y desarrollo tradicional de la cinematografía universal, logrando captar la atención del público a pesar de tratarse de un lenguaje audiovisual arriesgado y difícil de seguir en comparación con el cine convencional.

A lo largo de los 3 días de Festival puede suceder lo inesperado.

PIXILERATIONS [v.7]
A showcase of digital media and interactive performance
part of the FirstWorks Festival.

September 30-October 10, 2010 in Providence, Rhode Island

PIXILERATIONS [v.7] is a new media showcase in Providence, Rhode Island that investigates the state of new media arts through installations, concert performances and film/video screenings. It is part of the larger FirstWorks Festival (www.first-works.org), a multidimensional performing arts festival held in Providence each fall. Pixilerations is produced by FirstWorks in collaboration with the Rhode Island School of Design, Brown University, and the City of Providence’s Department of Art, Culture + Tourism.

My Videos “For Sore Eyes“, “Undisclosed Beauty” and “MAMO” selected for the 3d edition VIDEOHOLICA International Video Art Festival 2010 in Varna. Bulgaria. 10-17 August.

VIDEOHOLICA ASSOCIATION is a non-profit organization based in Varna, Bulgaria working in the organization, realization, support, establishment and development of diverse contemporary art and cultural interventions in Bulgaria and abroad trough the collaboration with local, national and international cultural partners.

Bringing together and collaborating with artists, curators, art critics and other art professionals from all around the world, VIDEOHOLICA ASSOCIATION becomes a medium, where art-involved people, institutions and initiatives communicate and exchange ideas and experience.

The film “For Sore Eyes” selected by Enrico Tomaselli from Magmart to be a part of the “Video Art Festival Rome 2010″ international exhibition of audiovisual research organized by CARMA – Center for Multimedia Research and Applied Arts – hosted at the House of Peoples-AIASP in Rome June 25-27.
